Divine Desserts for LI Pulse Magazine
For the November issue of LI Pulse magazine, I visited a few different eateries known for their delectable desserts. Might have had to punch another hole in my belt, but worth it as always. Tearsheets to come, or check out the article online.

Time-Lapse Photography from Edible's 'Good Beer' Event
How nice it is to be able to program my camera to fire automatically once every thirty seconds for the duration of an 8 hour event, while I get to enjoy good beer, good food, and the company of good friends.
Here's a time lapse video I created for the folks over at Edible Brooklyn / Edible Manhattan at last night's 'Good Beer' event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Enjoy!

In the Kitchen, with Sid Matos
My friends' husband Sid Matos is quite the talented chef. So when he asked that I take some photos to promote his new catering venture, there was no hesitation on my part. Sid hails from the Amazon, and I knew he'd be utilizing ingredients that come directly from the jungles of which he was born. While I had no doubt that his culinary skills were on par with some of the better chefs in NYC, I was pleasantly surprised by his talent for creative plating techniques. Obrigado, Mr. Matos!

Certified Angus Beef Dinner w/ Craig Deihl
After shooting much of the James Beard Foundation's pop-up restaurant at Chelsea Market over the last couple of months, I was asked to photograph Certified Angus Beef's dinner with Craig Deihl, executive chef of Charleston's Cypress. Deihl was recently the recipient of a prestigious James Beard Foundation nomination for Best Chef - Southeast.

Sunday Supper 2011 @ Chelsea Market
Here's a montage of photos from the sold out 3rd annual Sunday Supper - an enormous, family-style dinner in the 400 foot concourse of Chelsea Market. 250 guests were seated at three long tables, and were served by some of our country's finest chefs, including Bill Telepan, Mary Cleaver, Jacques Torres, Masaharu Morimoto, and Sarabeth Levine, among many others.

Published: Edible Brooklyn, "The Good Meat Issue"
I'm thrilled to have been a part of Edible Brooklyn's "Good Meat Issue", as it allowed me to work with businesses and chefs that I already support and admire. There's nothing better than stepping into the kitchens of some of your favorite restaurants to see who's preparing your meal and how much love goes into it.
The first article, by Emily Warren, touches upon some of Brooklyn's best meat/wine pairings. I visited the Fort Greene wine shop 'Gnarly Vines', owned by Brian Robinson, to photograph Brian with his favorite pairing of a Flatbush Avenue Jamaican beef patty with a LI-based red from Channing Daughters.
Next up was Park Slope's Palo Santo, where chef Jacques Gautier recommends a Wolffer's Claletto red (also Long Island-based) with his fall-right-off-the-bone wild boar shank braised in red wine.
A second set of published work was featured in an article about Dan Gibson, owner of Grazin' Angus Acres farm, who supplies our city with some of the best meat in the state. This took me to Carroll Gardens' Seersucker, where Rob Newton uses Gibsons' beautifully marbled, tender and juicy meat in a meatloaf with stone-ground grits & tasso gravy, a chili / grilled cheese lunchtime combo, and a decadent burger drenched in pimento cheese (I can attest to all three being delicious).
Anyway, go pick up a copy at your local bookstore, Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, or any business listed HERE ......Enjoy!

Flatow Collaboration # 5 - Court Pastry
Check out Sylvie Flatow's new piece for Patch.com. It'll leave you feeling nostalgic of the good ol' days and yearning for the deliciousness of one of Brooklyn's best Italian bakeries. Photos by moi.
