NY Street Games - Screening @ Village East Cinemas

My cousin's husband, Craig Lifschutz, recently produced a fantastic new documentary, entitled "New York Street Games". Featuring stories by Regis Philbin, Ray Romano, C. Everett Koop & Whoopi Goldberg (among other prominent New Yorkers), the documentary addresses the social and cultural importance of games such as Stickball, Skully, Stoopball, Kick-the-Can, and Ring-o-leavio (to name a few) - Classic street games that the children of NYC played before the age of video games, I-pods and the Internet.

As someone who grew up playing Stoopball, Bean-ball (with booties!), Four Square and Tapps, "New York Street Games" brought me back to the good ol' days, when those little blue Spalding raquetballs ruled our lives.

Vermont!

Hired to shoot Southern Vermont College's 83rd Commencement ceremonies in Bennington, VT.

While the gig was a huge success, heavy rains poured throughout the day, with bursts of sunlight poking its way over the Green Mountain range. I couldn't help but chase the light during the few minutes I had left after commencement came to an end. Actual graduation photos to be posted shortly...

Vegas!

I came out here on Saturday to shoot a wedding and a hip hop artist, among other, personal things (like my favorite burger joint). I still have more to upload, but here's a tasty sampling of my Vegas business vacation...

An Old Brooklyn Carriage House - My Dream Studio

Despite the old furniture, abundance of dust, soot, and other well known enemies of the camera, I think I may have found my new favorite place to shoot. Giant frosted windows serve as natural soft boxes throughout the building. Finally, no hauling of light stands and speedlights necessary.
