Vendy Award Portraits

I was recently blessed with an awesome job working for the Vendy Awards, shooting portraits of their top 5 finalists. For those who don't know, the Vendy Awards is kind of like the Oscars for NYC food trucks. This year's event will take place on September 25th, on Governor's Island. It's completely sold out, so....better luck next year! Or you can check out each of the following vendors at their locations listed below. I originally thought I'd complete this project within a day or two (even though my shoot schedule had me trekking from Chelsea to Inwood to Astoria to Midtown), but due to the nature of the food truck business (always on the go), and Ramadan, and truck owners needing to get shape-ups before the shoot - it took a little longer than expected. That being said, the project was completely worth the time and effort, as well as the 10 lbs I've gained from excessive amounts of patacones, schnitzel, moroccan tagine, schwarma and falafel. Each vendor was a pleasure to work with. Some offered me the privilege to hang out and feast for an hour, and some were so busy that we would have to keep the shoot under 30 seconds. Thank you Amelia Durand and Amy Kantrowitz for bringing me aboard this amazing project.
